Kajal Agarwal was born in a Punjabi family who settled in Mumbai. Her father Vinay Agarwal is an entrepreneur in the textile business, and her mother Suman Agarwal is a dessert,  and also a business manager of Kajal. Kajal's younger sister is Nisha Agarwal, an actress in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films. She is now married to Karan Walecha (Managing Director Gold's Gym, Asia).

 She attended St. Ann's High School, Fortress and completed her pre-university education at Jai Hind College. She graduated from Mass and Media with a degree in marketing and advertising from Kishanchand Chelaram College. While dreaming of an MBA during the growing years, she intends to pursue a master's degree soon.

After that she starred in Telugu films like Darling, Brindavanam, Mr Perfect, Businessman,  Nayak, Badshah, Govindu Andarivadele, Temper. Roles made. And Khadi No. 150 (2017).
